Çankaya University was founded in the Turkish capital Ankara on 9 July 1997 by the Alp Mountains Education Foundation. The university takes its name from Çankaya — the most prestigious district of Ankara and home to the Presidential Palace.
Ranking: Çankaya is ranked 25th among Turkish universities and 2,293rd globally. The university is accredited by Turkey's Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Admission requirement — note for international students: Çankaya requires the YÖS exam as a basic prerequisite for international undergraduate admission — distinguishing it from many private universities that waive YÖS. Plan accordingly.
Two campuses:
The main campus covers approximately 70,000 m², including 440,000 m² of total enclosed space. It also includes a private sports club offering various athletic activities.
Academic offering:
Faculty: Çankaya is distinguished by having over 250 lecturers and academics with high experience and competence.
Language of instruction: English is the primary language of instruction, with the exception of the Faculty of Law where most subjects are taught in Turkish (necessary for practising law in Turkey).
