Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADÜ) — known in Turkish as Aydın Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi — is a public university in Aydın, in western Turkey near the Aegean coast. Founded in 1992, the university is named after Adnan Menderes, Turkey's first democratically elected prime minister, who was hanged by the military after the 1960 coup. In 2018, the institution was formally renamed to include "Aydın" as a prefix.
