Akbank

Akbank — "the white bank" — was founded in 1948 in the city of Adana to finance traders working in the cotton industry at the time. A second branch opened in Istanbul in 1950 and the bank's headquarters moved there shortly after.

Akbank has since grown extensively, increasing both its branch count and the volume of its monetary operations to become the major bank it is today: more than 770 branches, over 12,000 employees, and around 18 million customers.

The bank offers corporate and investment banking, commercial banking, SME banking, retail banking, payment systems, treasury operations, private banking, and international banking.
