Boğaziçi University (BOUN) — known in Arabic as Bosphorus University — is one of Turkey's most prestigious public universities. Founded in 1971 on the European side of Istanbul in the historic Bebek neighbourhood overlooking the Bosphorus Strait, it consistently ranks among the top 3 public universities in Turkey.
