Eskişehir Technical University (ESTÜ) — known in Turkish as Eskişehir Teknik Üniversitesi — is a public technical university in Eskişehir, central Anatolia. Founded in 2018, ESTÜ was split off from the larger Anadolu University, inheriting some of Anadolu's most distinctive programs — most notably its world-class Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Why Arab students choose ESTÜ: The university is among the most popular Turkish public universities with Arab students because it adopts both Turkish and English as primary languages of instruction across all programs, and it sits in Eskişehir — Turkey's most concentrated student city with three major universities.
Specialised focus — Aviation and Space Sciences: ESTÜ's Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics is one of the very few in Turkey to offer a comprehensive aviation curriculum, with programs in:
4 main faculties:
Admission: ESTÜ accepts SAT, YÖS, and high-school diplomas with adequate GPA. Apply at ogrbilsis.eskisehir.edu.tr. The academic year typically begins in July or August.
Tuition (international students): Approximately $800–2,500 per year for most undergraduate programs. Aviation programs may be priced separately given their specialised equipment and certification requirements.
Scholarships: Türkiye Bursları (full government scholarship) is the main pathway for fully funded international study.
Living in Eskişehir: Eskişehir is one of Turkey's most popular student cities, with a young, vibrant secular atmosphere, modern tram system, and three major universities (ESTÜ, Anadolu, ESOGÜ). Student housing — government and private — ranges from approximately 250 to 1,000 Turkish lira per month for dormitories. Mid-quality apartment rentals run 400–1,200 lira per month. High-speed rail connects Eskişehir to Istanbul (~2.5 hours) and Ankara (~1.5 hours).
Recognition: Diplomas are accredited by Turkey's YÖK (Higher Education Council) and recognised across the Arab world. ESTÜ is particularly attractive to students interested in aviation, space sciences, or engineering who want English-medium options in a lively student city.
Verify aviation-program admission tracks (some may require additional physical/medical checks) and current English-medium program list directly with the university before applying.
