İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University (İKÇÜ) is one of İzmir's important public universities, founded on 10 December 2010. The university is named after the renowned 17th-century Ottoman polymath Kâtip Çelebi, author of one of the most important geographical and bibliographical works of the Islamic world (Kashf al-Zunun).
