Sivas Cumhuriyet University (CÜ) — known in Turkish as Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi — is a public university in the city of Sivas, in central Anatolia. Founded on 9 February 1973 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Turkish Republic (founded 1923), the university's name Cumhuriyet means "Republic" — reflecting its founding mission to honour the Republic and contribute to its educational development.
